 While just a small part of the American West, The Mojave Desert and Owens Valley comprise one of the most diverse geological regions in the world.  This geological frontier is full of special locations where the determined treasure hunter can discover a wide assortment material.  One can find minerals, geodes, chalcedony varieties such as agate, jasper, onyx, and opal, as well as crystals and other semi-precious gems.  The only way for these treasures to be discovered and enjoyed is for us crazy rockhounds to go out and find them!

From October to May, we offer educational field trips to some of the more accessible and well-known rockhounding sites in Southern California.  You'll have a great time learning from Ryan about the history and geology of the locality, the minerals available, and how to get right to finding the best of what the site has to offer.  Simply send an email to ryan@allpickedup.com and request to be put on the field trip mailing list.
